Training Opportunities for Producers and Screenwriters.
Call for Submissions for the PEI Screenwriters’ Bootcamp The PEI Screenwriters’ Bootcamp is celebrating twelve years as a leader in professional development for emerging and mid-career screenwriters and producers, and our success rate is attracting interest across Canada.
Consequently, we are going national and offering extra seats to writers and producers from outside the Atlantic Region. We are growing and we want you to grow with us.
As in other years, we are offering introductory and advanced screenwriting workshops for film and series, as well as training in production management.
New this year, we are offering producer/writer teams an opportunity to develop a project together. This new workshop, The Road to Production, will offer support to producers who have a project in development. They will develop a professional pitch package as well as compete for a cash prize of $15,000 for production of a proof of concept video. Teams must consist of at least one resident of PEI, and details for all our workshops are outlined on our website.
FilmPEI is excited to work with participants to develop projects and many are eligible for funding through the recent PEI Cultural Strategy. Our role is to help writers and producers attract funding and prepare to participate in programs such as the National Screen Institute, Telefilm Canada, the Canada Media Fund, the Independent Production Fund, and the Harold Greenberg Fund.
This year, the PEI Screenwriters’ Bootcamp is being held from May 19 to 24, and we are looking for emerging producers and writers who want to move their careers forward in the screen-based entertainment industry.
