Susan Rodgers is a novelist and filmmaker with a passion for storytelling.
Her work often explores themes of forgiveness, healing, and hope. She draws a lot of her inspiration from her favourite place, gorgeous Darnley, P.E.I., where she spends summers in a cozy camper by the ocean with her partner, Steve, and her two cats, Townes and Jazzy. Susan’s scripted feature film, Still The Water, was selected to compete in the Borsos at Whistler for Best Canadian Feature; she also loves to tell unscripted stories and recently picked up some cherished hardware from the Silver Wave Film Festival and DOC Atlantic for her documentary lifestyle series, Grand River Grand. Susan’s current projects are the four-episode doc series Wild Hearts, and the family movie, Toby’s Song, co-written with Susan's sister Kathy Gillis.
Next in line is the fun romantic comedy Lavender & Chase, written and developed by the Sea Stone Writers’ Collective (Robin Sutherland, Tracey Belsher, and Susan Rodgers). Onwards and upwards!
