Screen Acting 201 – Intro to Scene Work

Trilby Jeeves’ Screen Acting 201 –  Intro to Scene Work workshop is great for people who have some acting experience or have already taken the Screen Acting 101 – Intro to Monologue workshop. Participants with experience 16 hours  in total of instruction during which they will be partnered to work on a scene:

3hr acting icebreaker/introduction

Instruction schedule to be set with the class input but will include:
• 1 hour first read of scenes – zoom
• 4 x 2  hours of scene study – zoom
• 30 min camera taping – in person
• 3 hour playback to review everyone’s work – zoom

All precautions for physical distancing and proper hygiene will be in place. You will be assigned a monologue and expected to prepare for the online rehearsals.

The class is limited to 12 people so pre-registration and pre-payment is required.

Trilby Jeeves is an actor, director, instructor, and writer from Vancouver. She is the only English student to be theatrically trained in her second language at “Le Conservatoire d'Art Dramatique” in Quebec City. She went on to perform and direct in both languages across Canada. As well as performing up to 40 plays, including her own one woman show, “Dusty Shoes”, she worked for 34 years off and on as a set costumer/supervisor in the theatre
& film industry. For 12 years she has facilitated her Buffoonery Workshops for actors and also for non-actors in the private sector or as a public workshop. Her course is part of the curriculum in the one year acting program at Vanarts, and each term the directing students at Vancouver Film School get a taste of her class. Together with colleague Peter D. Marshall, Trilby also created directing workshops to help young/first time directors. Trilby has just wrapped directing her first short film, The Rolling Pin.
