A group of four Atlantic Canadian female media creators took part in the second annual Interactive Incubator Program at the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival recently, among them Louise Lalonde, PEI Producer and Member of Women in Film and Television-Atlantic and IMAC.
The winners were selected to advance their original interactive web series with the help of industry consultants The four women were given full access to the Festival screenings, VIP Galas, and parties, plus they attend the [Interactive] Film Industry Forum workshops and panels.
They were also matched with leading industry experts from across Canada for one-on-one consultations and meetings to further refine, strengthen and develop their projects, including Nina Sudra from VICE Canada; Noora Abu Eitah from Secret Location, and Gosia Kamela from Bell Media. Winners will also received a $2000 voucher for film gear rental from William F. White International Inc.
“Spending five days surrounded by female filmmakers who are willing to share their expertise and advice has to be one of the finest opportunities a media creator can be given, and I want to thank the organizers”, said Louise Lalonde.
At the conclusion of the week, the four participants took the opportunity to pitch their projects to producers and organizations at the Face 2 Face Pitch Session.
