Call for Submissions for Short Film Competition
The Parrsboro Film Festival is inviting Atlantic Canadian filmmakers to submit films for the 2026 Parrsboro Film Festival short film competition.
Dates this year: Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4, 2026
There are two categories of films to choose from:
- Short films 6 minutes and under
- Short films over 6 but under 20 minutes
Films must have been completed within the last 24 months. All genres of film will be accepted.
The short film competition will take place Saturday morning October 3 between 9 and 1pm. The audience will have an opportunity to vote for their favourite films at the end of each film category.
Cash awards for the top 3 People’s Choice Award in each of the two categories will be presented at the end of this portion of the Film Festival.
Submission deadline is Monday, August 3, 2026
Filmmakers will be notified by September 7, 2026, if their submissions were successful or not.
Short films will be jury selected.
