Programs

There are several programs which PEI filmmakers can find funding for their project.

Film 4ward Program – administered by FilmPEI is an incubator program for film production and skill capacity building for both emerging and mid-career filmmakers.  Funds are provided to filmmakers in this program.

PEI Film Media Fund– administered by Innovation PEI this program provides support to PEI filmmakers via a rebate of up to 25% of eligible Prince Edward Island expenditures, to eligible producers of a qualifying production.

PEI Screenwriters’ Bootcamp –  administered by FilmPEI this is a professional development opportunity for Canadian emerging and mid-career creators offering one-on-one mentoring and group sessions with industry professionals in feature and series writing, producing and a pitch package development workshop at the end of which a $15,000 proof of concept fund is awarded to one team.

FilmPEI In-kind Production Assistance Program –  administered by FilmPEI the FilmPEI In-Kind Production Assistance program is open to all FilmPEI Producer Members in good standing. At this time FilmPEI grants include ONLY in-kind equipment, digital system and/or space rental. (There is no cash portion of this grant). NOTE: the RED Helium will not be available for this program. Talent to Watch Program – administered by Telefilm this program will see emerging filmmakers be award grants for up to $125,000 to create feature docs/narratives or narrative web series.  FilmPEI is a partner in this program and takes in the first round of application. The projects go through a jury process and the winners get a recommendation from FilmPEI to move onto the Telefilm jury process.
