F4W22 DEADLINE IS 4PM, JANUARY 17, 2022!

FilmPEI is excited to announce the 2022 iteration of the Film4Ward program, an incubator program for film production and skill capacity building for both emerging and professional filmmakers.  Leveraging industry expertise across PEI and Canada, participants will be trained by industry professionals through a series of workshops and job shadowing opportunities. Four filmmaking teams will be chosen in a juried process and given funding and support to complete their films.

The Film4Ward program was designed to develop talent and content from emerging to professional PEI filmmakers to make them more competitive at a national and international level and forward the creative careers of these filmmakers in a meaningful and strategic way. From this program, creators will have calling card films they can use to enter international festival circuit/digital distribution and help them move their career forward to larger budget projects including feature films.

NEW FOR THIS YEAR

1.  Due to volume of production and lack of crew during peak production times, Film4Ward is discouraging the submission of FICTION projects that are obviously in need of shooting during the high season (May – September). PLEASE ENSURE YOUR FICTION SCRIPT CAN BE SHOT IN THE OFF SEASON.

For those submitting DOCUMENTARY projects there will be more leeway for spring production due to the lower number of crew required. But filmmakers must still adhere to the delivery deadline.

2. Due to foreseeable Covid 19 restrictions, working with directors not living on the Island and hiring crew that live outside the Atlantic region is not encouraged.

3. Productions will be required to have Covid 19 Operational Plans and work
within the Provincial protocols at the time of shooting.

The  Film4Ward  WINTER WORKSHOPS will be announced on an on going basis.
