Kuperman to Telefilm

Director Harmony Wagner and producer Jason Rogerson’s script, Kuperman, was recently selected by a jury of industry professionals to represent the Island Media Arts Co-op and Prince Edward Island in Telefilm’s Microbudget Feature Film Program.  The project now moves on to a national competition, where a Telefilm jury will review the 28 entries from across Canada and select 8-10 films to fund.

“This is a golden opportunity,” says producer Jason Rogerson.  “A project of this scope could really bring some attention to the many great filmmakers, actors and technicians here on PEI.  It could only lead to bigger things for the PEI film industry as a whole.” Produced by Periscope Pictures, Kuperman is a feature length, micro-budget comedy about Griffin Kuperman, a smalltown zero, who must face his fears, snap out of his fantasty world, and become a hero in order to save his comic book store, his friendship and himself.

The team is extremely grateful to have the support of the Island Media Arts Co-op and Telefilm Canada as they move forward with their application. If selected, Kuperman will shoot later in 2014.
